It has been another strong year of delivery for the Rangitāne Group. The Group’s results demonstrate the strength of our investment portfolio, despite a year of uncertainty arising from the impact of COVID-19. We are pleased to report that the Group accounts show a 12.6% return on assets during the financial year, with total assets rising from $81.8m last year to $92.1m this year. The Group also delivered an operating profit of $2.37m, up from $590,789 in the prior year. Net cash flows from operating activities also rose from $1.37m to $2.0m, and we were able to invest a record amount into programmes and delivery of services to whānau.
Behind the numbers is the huge amount of work that goes into supporting the aspirations of our whānau. We are proud of the work we have done to support our whānau through the COVID-19 pandemic, whilst continuing to grow and expand the delivery of educational grants and scholarships for our tauira. One example of the investment in our people is the distribution of over $45,000 to 351 iwi members to support them with their education pathways. Another example is our funding of 21 dive scholarships, to support the next generation of iwi divers.
