Rangitāne Holdings Limited and Rangitāne Investments Limited (the two asset holdings companies for the Rangitāne o Wairau Group) are seeking experienced Directors, with strong strategic governance skills, to provide leadership and guidance from a strategic perspective as our business continues to diversify and grow.
Whilst day to day operations of the Rangitāne o Wairau Group are led by the General Manager, the Directors provide strategic leadership in alignment with the agreed Investment Plan, and are responsible for the strategic development, investment and effective management of the investment portfolio.
Directors provide strategic leadership to the companies. They are responsible for ensuring that the companies maintain strong connection with and earns the confidence of the shareholder and the wider members of Rangitāne o Wairau.
Directors will lead by example and be seen to behave with professionalism, integrity and high ethical standards, demonstrating their commitment to complying with the letter and the spirit of relevant laws and regulations and also the values of Rangitāne o Wairau.
In addition to the duties usually expected of a Director under the Companies Act and Charities Act, Directors of RHL and RIL have additional duties to consider. The special nature of the companies and the relationship with the Trust (as Shareholder) and the wider membership of Rangitāne o Wairau provide an important context for the activities of Directors.
Particular skills/competencies sought
RHL and RIL have a broad asset base, but with a particular current focus on aquaculture, property development and direct investment. If you have skills that would add value to our Board, we encourage you to consider applying.
In this appointment round, the key skills and experience sought include:
- Experienced company director with demonstrated commercial acumen;
- Extensive commercial networks;
- Able to identify emerging trends to assist in the development of investment strategy;
- Demonstrated ability to analyse financial statements and contribute to due diligence;
- Ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences.
Board meetings are held every quarter, however there are often ad hoc instances where Directors may be called upon, or subcommittee roles that require Directors to meet more frequently.
Term of Appointment
Appointments will be made for likely three years.
