Kia ora koutou,

We are gearing up for our Kaumātua trip to Wellington this week.  A special thanks to Deedee Bancroft for her mahi in organising this event.  There has been discussion around this trip for a while and we are delighted it’s finally happening, all we need now is some nice weather.

I would like to remind you about the Kanohi ki te Kanohi hui this Friday at 6pm.  I intend to start the meeting with a summary of operations over this last month and to answer any questions you have for me.  Following the hui, Jeremy MacLeod and Janis de Thierry will be here to discuss waiata resources and to talk about the language and cultural revitalisation strategy, Tangata Rau, Reo Kotahi. The official launch of the strategy will be held on Sunday, 9 September at 11am-2pm with special guests Scotty and Stacey Morrison.  We also have our beginner’s Te Reo class/Fush & Chip Night with Anton Matthews from Ōtautahi on Monday 10 September. These are catered events with limited seats so please RSVP before Friday 7 September to events@rangitane.org.nz.

Please note we will be having a mihi whakatau next Monday at 10am at Ūkaipō to welcome our new Pou Kaiwhakawahaere, Sarah Lee. Sarah will be joining our team as Funding and Programme Manager.  Please let the office know if you would like to attend for catering purposes.  We will introduce Sarah more formally next week.

Kia pai to wiki
