Message from the Board of Trustees

Tēnā koutou e te iwi,

A couple of weeks ago, we distributed a pānui from Nick Chin (our General Manager) and the Trust Board. In this pānui, Nick announced that after three years with Rangitāne, he had made the decision to resign and finish at the end of the month. We are grateful to Nick for his significant contribution to Rangitāne. He will continue to be a valued member of our extended whānau and will continue to be involved in various kaupapa.

We have been working closely with Nick and his team to manage the transition. We are now able to share with you the decisions that have been made and the steps from here.

Appointment of interim General Manager

The Trust is appointing Corey Hebberd as the General Manager for a period of six months. Corey knows the operations of the Trust well and has the full, unconditional support of the Trust to carry out the role.

Many of you will know Corey well. Corey (one of our George MacDonald whānau) has served as the Board Secretary for the Group and was appointed as the Commercial Property Manager in 2019. During his time, we have seen great progress in the development of the systems, processes and performance of our commercial arm. Corey’s appointment to cover the General Manager role will provide stability and certainty, both internally and externally.

Appointment of a permanent General Manager

The Trust is taking some time to consider the next steps regarding the appointment of a permanent General Manager. This will include reviewing our requirements and expectations for the role. We are then likely to start a recruitment/search process. We expect this may take up to six months and we will keep you posted as this moves along.

You can continue to contact our office at admin@rangitane.org.nz, or you can contact the General Manager directly, at manager@rangitane.org.nz.

Ngā mihi

Janis de Thierry and Calvin Hart
